Residential Design
July 2024
Klyne Construction collaborated with Andrew Burges Architects during pre-construction on Gully House to align budget and creative direction. This early input allowed detailed planning and full support of the project’s transformative vision.
The redesign reconnected the original monolithic home to its steep Clovelly Gully site with two distinct facades: open brickwork east/west for privacy and planting, and a transparent north/south side for sunlight and flow. A split-level design brings light into the 4m-high kitchen.
The restrained material palette includes concrete, crazy paving, and American Oak joinery. Despite heavy rain, the team delivered, with standout work from BR Masonry and Captive Cabinetmaking.
A modern farmhouse in the NSW Highlands, Little Cottage blends minimalism with tradition, landscape, and rural serenity.
Balmoral House blends sculptural design with sustainability, maximising views while reworking the original structure.
